The year of our miracle

I will always remember 2011 as the year of our miracle. After 12 long years of waiting, trying, hoping, our babies finally arrived. 2011 has been such a special year and I am filled with gratitude. May 2012 be a year of wonderful discovery and love as our little family grows...

An optimist that is tuning into the divine timing of the universe and waiting patiently for a new soul to choose us as his parents. Awaiting an arrival that has been and gone many times. I am trying not to question how or when our child will come to us...but feel the time is now. After 12 years and 7 IVF's, we are finally expecting twins!

THE STORY SO FAR...

TTC: 12 yrs

1998 - 2001: Tried & tried...

2002: Laporoscopy, pelvic adhesions, edometriosis, blocked tubes, told by Dr C would never have a child naturally...

2004: Lap for endometriosis, adhesions etc

2005: 3 cycles of Chlomid & 3 AI's – all BFN. Hystersc for susp polyp - Naturopath, acupuncturist, spiritual journey started...

2007: Conceived naturally! But it was an ectopic pregnancy which ruptured while in a tent in Etosha. Airlifted, emerg laporotomy surgery in Windhoek.

2008: Conceived nat exactly one year later! 2nd Ectopic, lap at 7 wks.

Advised by my FS to do IVF.

2008: 1st IVF - Only 2 eggs retrieved, one with ICSI and we had a BFP, but again it was not to be and I miscarried at 6 wks...

2009: IVF #2 Jul/Aug - Retrieved 4 eggs, 2 fertilised but cycle cancelled as embies didn't make it to day 5

2009: IVF/ICSI #3 Oct/Nov - Retrieved 3 eggs, 2 fertilised but poor quality embryos. Cycle cancelled.

2010: IVF #4 Mar - cancelled on CD8 - low stims - only 1 dominant follicle..

2010: IVF #5 May - 4 eggs retrieved, 2 fertilised....embies stopped growing before day 5. No ET.

2010: IVF #6 Oct - Last shot with my eggs - 3 eggs retrieved, 2 fertilised, ET day 3 (a 4 cell and a dodgy 3 cell) BFN

Finally accept the reality that my eggs are not going to make us our babies very easily...

2011: Moved onto donor eggs. IVF #7 Transferred 2 beautiful blastocysts and 2 are on ice! BFP!!!

Expecting twins!!! On or around 20th October 2011! Yay!
